A Wonderful Gynae…and More… :-)

P4101073This post is dedicated solely for Dr Seri Suniza of PCMC. We promised her we would give the url of this blog for her to read and I take this opportunity to thank her for being THE best gynae any woman can ask for.

I never thought it was possible to develop a bond with my Dr during the 9 months of pregnancy but it happened. Alhamdulillah, we got the gynae that we can ask opinion from, questions and raise concerns without feeling the least bit intimidated by her. She was always friendly, chirpy and informative at the same time alert to my health. Two thumbs up for Dr Seri and her medical team during my labor and delivery, I couldn’t ask for a better experience than the one I had in PCMC.

P4101072

We were actually not planning to deliver in PCMC but since we fell in love with her efficiency, friendliness and a feeling of confidence to be handled by her, we decided to go for it though it was a little off the budget for us. But it was well-spent and I felt well-taken cared for which helps to faster recovery especially when I get to eat the tiramisu…! Kehkehkeh…believe it or not, me and Munir will wait for the mealtimes to come and go clawing for the tiramisu first!… LOL

Thanks again Dr Seri for a great and comforting delivery experience for us. We will see you during our next appointment ya!  ;-)

We Made It Out…ALIVE!!!

P4091036 Phew! The mystery is solved finally… After months of waiting in anticipation, wondering and thinking how it’s going to turn out for me this second time around… it has finally passed and alhamdulillah, I couldn’t ask for a better delivery experience with the best medical team…

But on a more serious note, I was terrified before going for the labor and delivery. All my thoughts were concentrated on whether I can make it through the normal delivery after an emergency c-section with Asyraaf. Though the risks are higher than for a woman who has a normal delivery before, we were prepared to take the risk…plus the costs will be lower too… hehe.

Having opted for an induced labor due to the size of Hazel which was already 3.3kg at 38 weeks, and the high possibility of her reaching 3.9kg by EDD, we headed to Prince Court on Tuesday morning, Asyraaf sent to the nursery, his bag packed with him, and my things too for the stay at the hospital.

I was induced at about 11.30 am 070409, only started to feel contraction in the evening, and started to beg for ‘heppidural’ at 11.30 at night. And the journey has only just begun… And it was a battle only I can go through. God, the time seemed to be moving oh so slowly! After epidural kicked in, the smile muscle in my cheeks started to work again under the uephoria which was “heppidural”…LOL… (lagi kena usik dgn anaesthetist “ Haa….baru nampak dia senyum…, tadi kelat je…) Citt…:-P

P1011004Had a good sleep albeit the skyrocketing contractions, had a very small breakfast lest I throw up during delivery and at about 10 am started to feel the urge to push so bad, I was cursing Munir under my breath… Being him, he will sometimes make jokes, untimely ones I might say, and get a piercing stare so hard he stopped making them. God…I can only pray to Allah at that time…But having my husband by my side…eases my pain in a way. He will recite Kursi for me and I will listen and feel the contraction subsiding a little…

And at about 10.45 am, my beloved Dr Seri came in like Buzz Lightyear ( and she did do the “Okayy!!! I’m here…” Ultraman like…LOL. If I wasn’t in so much pain… I would have surely laughed. But no can do…Somebody’s still not out yet.

And there on began the pushing. I was so lousy at it I wanted to give up. Never been through a normal delivery before, I didn’t really know what was ‘pushing’ …It took me almost 45 mins just to push with Munir giving me water (it was so thirsty giving birth!!) every few seconds. I felt like I was in the marathon where the runners usually pour water on the faces at the pit stops. And having a doctor you are most comfortable with that was heping you and assisting me all the way finally gave way to…tadaa….

P4161088 whats up bro...!?

Baby Hazel Aleesya bt Ahmad Munir…weighing 3.3kg, healthy and well. After Hazel was whisked away to be tended to, Dr Seri put her attention to me and started ‘ sewing’. GOD IT WAS PAINFUL….! I thought I was in labor all over again…and then the problem started, I started haemorrhaging… which lost me a lot of blood and things became a little chaotic at that time…

P4091038 And the only thought that came to mind…” At least my daughter’s already safe…if it was time to go…then it was God’s will…” But i guess my time has not come, they managed to contain the situation, and Dr Seri sewed me up nicely and I was sent to the normal room in the evening after being monitored for a while. The next day I was called Dracula by Dr Seri since I had to be given two pints of blood to replace the ones lost during delivery…:-)

P4091030

It was a great experience for me, suspense, fright, happiness, pain, all wrapped into one. On the fourth day after getting sufficient rest and treatment, I was discharged. But as I turned to look at my baby, I thought to myself “How in hell did someone as BIG as THAT come out of me??”

Pink Frenzy

P2210983 P2210978

Blame it on my ignorance… but I believe girls look sweetest in pink. Huhu… I am uncontrollable now… but the pink crusade has begun…LOL. And mind you, these are only a few of the many other PINKS I bought…hehe. If the baby comes out a boy…walauwey… he’s just gonna have to swallow his pride and be the prettiest boy in town! :-) Hekhekhek…

By the way, I am already discharged from PCMC. Am alright now… was just a scare I guess for me to take things slow… and REST. Dr Seri gave me 5-days MC before I get back to work…huhu…

Got to go now…daaa…sleepy already…Zzzzz….

SAGUN: The ultimate craving came undone

sagun

This, my friends, is my ultimate craving, during pregnancy with Asyraaf and now with LittleOne too. I noticed this craving when I started to think how the dust under the bed is …yummy, or the fine grain of the soil by the construction roadside is …again, yummy. And anything that is floury, fine and powdery. I ate flour once, and believe me, it did not taste good! So I resorted to sagun which has the same kind of floury texture but tastes good, at least to me though…LOL.

And it was so hard to get a supply of sagun nowadays…been crazy looking for it! And after asking for help from my buddy Noreane, she finally got it for me through a friend. Yippee!! So now I know where to get them…

I did a test on myself after Asyraaf was born, bought a packet of sagun just to prove the craving myth wrong. I DID NOT TOUCH EVEN A PIECE OF IT. It just didn’t… look as tasty as when I was pregnant. So there you go… craving myth, is not  a myth! It’s true…really…:-)

See how the jar is half empty..? :-) I’m running low on sagun supply…Noreane, HELP!!

Amazing Race @ Prince Court

picx1

Pics during one of the visits to PCMC. Imagine having to chase after Asyraaf in a building that big…ughh…sometimes it’s a nightmare to bring him along… [org perak kata peghakkk …:-)] Nobody seems to know where is PCMC though, only a handful knows. But so far, they provide good service, take the time to smile everytime we get there, and most importantly, waiting time is usually very minimal- 1 hour tops. So far though… I hope they maintain the good service…

During pregnancy with Asyraaf, I went to Klinik Kesihatan Kerajaan. I wasn’t working then so it wasn’t a big deal to had to wait up to 5 hours to get to the checkup room. The toilet was always out of order, with everyone had to line up to pee in the cup and lots of other downsides…but then again, it was free…so I tend to accept whatever I had to go through. However, due to the ‘tragedy’ that happened during birth even after numerous checkups and emergency’s right before the delivery, we decided to try private hospital this time around. Alhamdulillah…so far so good…it’s just a strain on the pockets a little…but insya-Alllah… rezeki anak…there are means to get by… alhamdulillah…

This video was taken during the visit, a few minutes seemed like a few hourss…arghhhh!!! I think the whole PCMC is terrorized by him by now…* sigh…it is almost like Amazing Race…huhu…

It'ss a girllll!!! THANK GOD...!!

We went ahead and did the detailed scan last two weeks at Prince Court Medical Centre as we did with Asyraaf when he was about 25 weeks. And we found out the gender of the little one...it's gonna be a girrlllll!!! You will never know my anticipation waiting for that news...after having a boy...you just can't help but wish for a girl...(hoping she will be more docile as compared to her brother of course). But if by the turn of God's fate she turns out more active than her brother...oh darn... I'm gonna have to buy those harness they sell in baby shops...LOL...

Maybe because I'm the only girl in my family... so it has been the image in my mind to dress my baby girl all in pink like I was when I was little. Well little one... Ibu is sorry but you'll just have to bear with me in the first few years with the frills and the cute skirts...:-) If you see a flashing pink in your neighbourhood, that might be us... LOL

Anyway, LittleOne is now about 26 weeks, and she now:

1. Weighs about a kg (so small, yet I feel so big! Damn, that might be me alone that's big...!)
2. Kicks harder and more frequently than Asyraaf did
3. Does not make me eat as much as Asyraaf did, I could go without a lunch or a dinner without feeling hungry at all
4. Makes me pee all the time!
5. Does not get as many things as her brother did...a lot of her things will be recycled...:-) except for a few things I'll need to buy for her...
6. Has to get by without the rests and comfort as Asyraaf since I'm working in shifts and seldom gets even public holidays
7. Get better medical attention since Ibu and ayah had a bad experience the first time around so we are more careful this time.

I'll update on the littleone's progress as we cruise by the pregnancy...Pray for my bell-being and safe delivery...:-) See you in the next entries...!

Watsup girl...?

Wowweee...it's been 2 months since I last updated! Gosh... where in the world have I been huh? Actually, I haven't been anywhere, just the usual work and home drill but I find it hard to blog these days due to the constraints of new work environment and adjustments that I had to make in my life.
And I have been wallowing in self-pity due to the painstakingly slow 3 months of morning sickness and every sickness on earth! And I was down with viral fever for about two weeks, almost gearing towards dengue but alhamdulillah...I am fine now.

The little one? :-) He/she is 5 months now, has started kicking and fluttering around in my belly. And the infamous pee-in-5-seconds-or-I-will-pee-in-my pants syndrome is back...now with a vengeance more than ever...*gosh...Appetite wise...? I am eating averagely normal as compared to Asyraaf's pregnancy...(which I think I was outrageously hungry all the time!) I am now back to my pre-pregnancy weight after losing weight in the first three months. I hope I can catch up soon so as to provide enough nutrition to the little one inside. We have been to ultrasound scan during the monthly checkups but haven't been able to see the gender yet...though I am secretly wishing it's going to be a girl this time ...:-) Yeah, I know you are going to say ... dream onnn....LOL. Well dreams did make things come true...so I'll hang on to it...:-)

I am learning lots and lots of things at work, new things that I have never done before. It is exciting at the same time scary due to the fact that news is real...any mistakes made...will be real too...therefore margin of error is very thin and I am still very new to this field as compared to my colleagues that has been here for 12-13 years...But I am trying as much as I can to learn and absorb all that I can in the smallest amount of time possible because...well, I did write in my resume that I am a 'fast-learner' hehehe...therefore I have got to prove it.

What else have I been doing? Well, I have been in my decorate-my-house-like-in-the-magazine mode...LOL. Have been going around from deco stores to another...reading deco magazines and finally deciding to facelift my house. So I made 'a few' purchases including the furniture, curtains and what-nots (I'd rather not mention here lest Mr hubby reads this and knows my little white lies...hehehe...). Anyway, the new house is just great for us surprisingly... we feel in- tune with the house, just nice to what we would like; a yard that is ours and ours alone so that Asyraaf can play around with his bike etc. Well, in short, it's okay...:-)

Sorry I don't have any recent pics of Asyraaf...this pic was from Raya...

And before I end this post, I leave you with Asyraaf babbling away with his Dad on his way to pick me up from work...Daddy's boylah katakan...:-)
