Not such a ‘fruitful’ event…:-)

DSC01521
One of the things that we noticed with Asyraaf eversince he was about a year old was his fascination with aircrafts, be it the commercial aircrafts, a chopper or anything that moves in the air come to think of it…He’ll will shriek at the top of lungs “Ibu!! Oplane!!”, pointing excitedly at an aeroplane that passes by. So when we got to know of the TUDM Subang Open Day, we were excited to bring him there and see his reaction.
But alas, it became an unfinished business instead…
Notice the deep frown on Asyraaf’s forehead? That’s because… we didn’t manage to get ourselves in time to the TUDM Open Day event in Subang…LOL. Our bad, we thought it was held until evening, turned out it was only till 1pm… hihi…sorry Asyraaf. It must have killed him to see the aircrafts so near yet…so far. Next time yer sayang…
After that, since the intention was cut off mid air like that, we decided to bring Asyraaf near KLIA and park where the aircraft landing strip is to make up for the failed attempt the first time around. So we drove there while Asyraaf keep repeating “Nak tengok oplane…(translation= aeroplane), yes!”
We parked very near runway and waited…and after a while came the first aeroplane…nice…
DSC01528
And then came the next one…suddenly…when we turned to see him…and we saw this instead…
DSC01523
LOL… our superhero…it seemed…was afraid if the plane is very near him…up in the sky is fine…but not THAT near…:-)
DSC01526
After saying “Jomla balik…nak masuk keta…acaf takut…” while gripping his dad’s neck…we took pity and started the journey home…:-D
And believe it or not …this is the story of the superhero that is afraid of something…FINALLY…:-)

Asyraaf, at his ‘not so best’

DSC01533You know sometimes when you notice a kid in a party or a gathering somewhere that steals the attention of everyone by doing something that nobody else would do...? Well in this case, that boy is none other than Zamir Asyraaf.

This incident, or rather accident actually, happened last Sunday at Auntie Mira and Uncle Em's open house in Kemensah...Ibu is still red in the face remembering that incident...haiyoh...!

We went there before heading to Acik Eina's house for a gathering and it turns out it Auntie Mira made a cake for Abg Emir and wanted to celebrate it with the kids around. So we stayed a while longer for Emir.

And I did notice Asyraaf inching towards the cake the minute it was put on the table by Mira. And Emir trying his hardest to prevent Asyraaf from tumbling into his cake. The nightmare didn't end there.

While everyone was getting ready, Emran was lighting the candles, and everyone started singing "Happy birthday to you...happy birthday to you... happy birth..." and poof...the candles was blown off by Asyraaf...without a hint of guilt! My eyes nearly went out of my eyesockets!

Now I know some say, "ala...budak2..." but imagine the feeling of the birthday boy when his birthday cake candles was blown off by another person! Kesian Emir...

DSC01531
And again, Emran had to light the candles... and believe it or not, Asyraaf did it again! This time, I went to Asyraaf, held him in my arms to prevent him from getting to the cake while waiting for the Happy birthday song to end. At the same time fighting Asyraaf's wail trying to blow off the candle from afar, and in the end, desperate times calls for desperate measures... I HAD TO COVER HIS MOUTH so that he couldn't blow off the candles, praying Emir will blow it before he did.

.The song has never seemed so long before.

So this entry is to convey Asyraaf's utmost apology to Uncle EM, Auntie Mira and Abg Emir for blowing off Abg Emir's birthday candles...TWICE.

* I am dreading the next birthday party we have to go to...maybe I'll bring a mask along to cover his mouth...:-D

Out of preggieland...

I believe this entry is very much late in due. I was back at work since 22/6/09 but only now do I get a moments’ peace to write.

How do I feel??

Lighter, of course LOL… Not to mention, sleep deprived too…:-)

But it’s all in the package ladies and gentlemen…once you sign up on the trip to preggieland…there’s no turning back… EVER.

Work is better since I don’t have to go pee once in a few minutes and I can finally see my feet!! Hehe… Now that I think about it, after almost three years of marriage, I have not seen my feet quite often! And yes, I am definitely thinking of family planning. It’s not that I don’t appreciate God’s gift…but I’d like to give the best of me to my kids. More time, more love and of course more comfort if I can.

Now I don’t deny the rezeki that comes with the child…but I can only do so much if I am half asleep, tired and worked-out from work and family to do much. And hubby, I would like to use the maternity provision allocated for NST staff for once… which would of effect only after 3 years of service… Thank you very much…:-P

(sorry guys for the unfinished version…never thought anybody wud be reading it tonight…:-))

If you ask me honestly,

“So, how do you feel being a mom of two?”

The answer would be… TIRED. DAMN TIRED. EXHAUSTED. Me and hubby used to wake up once or twice every night for Asyraaf’s feedings, but now, times that by three. Hazel is still at the stage where she doesn’t really know how to differentiate night from day, so she wakes up frequently at night. Once I even made the wrong susu for the wrong child! Haha… That, would be a story I would tell the kids when they grow up…:-)

So… what has happened since Hazel’s birth? Well, for one she has been having occasional seizures from time to time… albeit mild ones. Brought her to a neurologist but nothing much came out of the visit. We are thinking of bringing her to another Paed in the few weeks in coming…

And the Prince? He’s 2, so the list is quite long for him…

1. He now knows how to say “ Ibu work…, ayah work…” if asked where my hubby and I during the day, or in my case, nights too…

2. Calls money…”Singgit lapan” no matter how much is in his hands…

3. Watches Barney tirelessly… (even now)

4. Runs for his life whenever I turn the vacuum cleaner on…

5. Wants to pick and choose his own choice of clothes, food and other things to his liking…

6. Demands hugs and kisses, and sometimes simply… DEMANDS. Eg: Peluk Ibuuuuu….(I want to hug Ibu) , Ciumm Ibuuuu…(I want to kiss Ibu) ,tepi sikit….(can u move over?)  sini duduk….. (sit here beside me) And yes, he speaks the second word before the first…hehehe…

But if you ask me again, how does it feel to be a mom of two…?

IT’S VERY REWARDING, EVERY SECOND OF IT. No doubt about it.

Coz at the end of a very long and tiring day… You get to see beautiful and innocent eyes looking at you, while running into your arms…saying   “ Ibuuuu!!!”

THAT, MY FRIENDS… is enough to make me walk a thousand miles to get to them, even being barefoot while doing it… Truly…

Alhamdulillah…

Asyraaf turns 2!

Sorry for the late update guys…been busy with…well nevermind…I’ll spill on that in another entry eh…?

Been a headless chicken prior to Asyraaf’s birthday, cracking my head on the cake design, calling every baker I know to make his cake for both his taska and Ipoh birthday bash… including his goodie bags and everything that goes with it like the party novelties aka hats, whistles, eyemasks etc etc etc… Man it was a lot of work! Lucky I only had to prepare the cakes and the cuppies for Ipoh since MIL has other things prepared…phew!

But it was well worth it I guess. Now I know why some mothers would go all out in preparing their kids birthday party. Because of the looks you will see in your child’s face, that shine in his eyes when he sees his favourite cartoon character on his birthday cake…and in Asyraaf’s case when he took a taste of the cake with his fingers before it even got out of the box!:-)

Sorry haven’t gotten a lot of pics from the bday party in Ipoh…been busy with putting everything together with the help of relatives plus making sure Asyraaf didn’t jump into the cake…*sigh…

So Asyraaf turned 2 on 28.05.09 this year…how time flies… beautiful days every single day turns out to be when you have children to share it with…Alhamdulillah…

PD in the blink of an eye

view

admiral cove’s view was great…but the food needs improvement though…

We went for a trip to PD last weekend, a short one… it was actually to let me blow off steam of my pantang…needed the fresh air… ;-D

We stayed at the avillion admiral cove… i booked through online and tried my luck since PD is not exactly a familiar holiday spot for us… so book i did and off we went that evening…

And man… could there be a longer packing time for any family in this planett?? Took quite some time to pack since this is my first time packing for two kids… lucky we don’t have to bring asyraaf’s cradle now since he can sleep without it if need be though he still uses it at home.

We arrived at the hotel quite late and after checking in we stayed in the room for a while before going out to the nearest eating spot for dinner.

I had this…

P5161201

It was RM 8! But it was well worth it…sedappppp… (isk…tanye org lepas pantang sumerr sedapp LOL). Asyraaf and Munir had Nasi ayam and roti bakar… Btw, the name of the drink was tiramisu blended with coffee and choc…sumething like that…:-)

pool The boy who ‘likes’ the pool but only wishes to be ‘near’ it, not inside it…

P5171206Next day we headed down the hotel to have breakfast ( the bfast was not to die for…unfortunately) during which Asyraaf managed to give some bread to the fishes near the jetty/marina… there were some   people prepping to go for fishing nearby too. The view was great… * sigh… definitely have to go away again…

And last but not least… some pics before we went off…:-)

picasThe girl in top pic? That’s asyraaf’s friend from pool…

Where’s Asyraaf…?

P5101151

His toys are IN THE BOX…

P5101152

His playthings and truck is parked nicely and not somewhere on the dining table…

P5101150 His bear and Mr froggy is for the first time IN the cot…

Where is the little rascal??

Jenjenjeng… He is in Ipoh…brought back there by his Tokwan and Makwan for the weekend aka holidaying without us… :-) Hence why all his things are where they are supposed to be for a change LOL…

First day without him was… serenity…second day was… okay…today we are missing him… A LOT… Lucky tomorrow he’s coming back home or else Ibu and Ayah will be opening his album to look at his pics… * erkk, or have we already done that abang…? Huhu…

* adei…

Asyraaf’s Nightmare…or ours…?

As of lately, we are deprived of sleep, not only from Hazel, which is not only expected, but anticipated, but from Asyraaf. He has been waking up in the middle of the night from nightmares, we presume and keep on crying relentlessly till wee hours in the morning.

GOD, HELP US…

That was what usually go through our minds especially when the brain stopped working somewhere between 3-4 am and the feeds and nappy changing of Hazel. We are lucky Hazel is not much of a fuss, unlike Asyraaf at her age.

Somehow there’s the maternal instinct in me that pops up and says ‘Maybe he is showing his need for attention’. The crying, the tantrums, the wriggling on the floor and the “No!” answer to every question we ask and sometimes the questions we don’t ask…ahakks… It was as though No was his answer by default.

But since yesterday, I have been trying to pay extra attention to him, especially when he starts to throw himself anywhere on the floor, I playfully chased him around the house and it worked. He started laughing and asked for more games, peekabo, main Kuchi2 (tickle in his language) and no more nightmares…alhamdulillah. Maybe as a  new parent of two, we oversaw the need of the elder sibling…our bad…

Would welcome any suggestions and tips of course…:-) Feel free to drop one ya…

Ibu…Nak Acikkk….Ayammm…*nod2x

ash Ibu…nak acikkk… ayammmm ehh…

I am by a long shot not a good cook…and never will be I guess. I have never been good nor comfortable in the kitchen as compared to cleaning the house…which is why I am sometimes called the cleanaholic by mr hubby…and yes, i do get ‘meroyan’ if the house is in utter chaos but i’m superrrr fine if there’s nothing to cookkk…oopss… my bad… tak cukup asuhan gaknyer…kekekek…lagi mau salahkan org lain…

So you can imagine when my son asked me in the cutest way possible from his safety gate which is near the kitchen saying…

“Ibu…nak ascikk… ayammm ehhh…” while nodding numerously with hope in his eyes… He wants to eat nasi with soup which is the menu they give at the nursery I think. How my heart fell at that moment… So this kaki bangku masak of a mother in me asked my sister in law how to make a chicken soup(yer, buat sup ayam pun tak pandai…huhu)  and did it today…and succeeded since he did eat a lot and with fervour … the feeling? Utter pride of course…being somebody who is not much of a cook…Mcm menang lottery LOL…

Anak punya pasal… they do make us into better human beings don’t u think? :-) Dah tue baru pandai masak sup kuakuakua…

Anyway, if any of you know recipes for little kids, plzzzz sampaikan ilmu anda juga kepada sayer yerrr….sekian terima kaseeyyy… * wink2x

I’m in Heaven…

Pics of Asyraaf on the rare occasions when his Ayah gave him the luxury of playing in the tub… slalunya main jirus ajekk…hehehe… The wonders of water and bath eh… Sampai kecut2 tak nak keluar lagi… * sigh

So now whenever he wants to have the ‘heavenly bath’ again he will simply open his clothes and say “ Nak andi!!” while pointing to the bathroom… Ehh… nice try my son…heavenly baths only happens once in a blue moon hence the name HEAVENLY bath…LOL

18.4.09

IBU… Nak kokom!!!

Hmm…makan pun sodapp nie…

The new favourite verse of the moment is…”Ibu! Nak kokom!” while pointing to his baby sister… And deny him we can’t or he will start shoving his sister in order to get to carry her.

Asyraaf has started to ‘kokom’ meaning ‘carry’, ‘suchu’ meaning ‘to give milk to his sister while laughing gleefully when I let him. In short he wants to be included. And surprisingly, he is gentle with her, when kissing his sister he will give his cheek slowly to her (to be kissed, not to kiss, mind you…hehehe) and he will pat her ever so gently when she cries saying “Nangissshh…diam…shhh”… :-)

We think he is embracing the concept of siblinghood quite easily though we are a bit wary he might take things into his own hands… So Hazel is always in my sight 24-7…

Asyraaf: Even your dad can’t help you this time…you need to learn how to be the big bro k…coz ayah is the only child hehehe…Good luck sayang … :-)

Futsal with #7

DSC02532

The ball is mine!!! Don’t anybody dare to take it from me!!

One good thing about being hospitalized is that I am forced to rest. So now I can catch up with the posts I have been meaning to update but always had to put it off due to being super busy…

This time is the story about the boy who has never been to a futsal court before (the only other time we went was when he was 7 mons old). This time…whoaaa…lo and behold, the thunder has arrived!

DSC02531

* Alamak Uncle Manok ni amik gambor asyaf lak…asyaf malu nie…tengok bawah je la…control macho sket… hehehe…

* I am shy…therefore I shall look down and pretend I am a statue…LOL…

Having played ‘ball’ with his dad a lot of times before, it came to no surprise when Asyraaf wanted to barge into ANY court that has an ongoing game, wanting to take the ball as if it was his… So the task of the evening was to make sure he is preoccupied and learn to wait until the gamed ended before he can go into the court and take the ball. He would look at me with pitiful eyes, pointing to the ball in the court and said “ Ball…ball…”:-) After waiting for about half and hour outside the court, the game finally ended and Munir took him into the court to play….and again…the song What a wonderful world played in my ears as I watched him chase after the ball…LOL…

Chocolates anyone...?

[I lurrveee chocolatess!!]

One fine morning...I woke up to the 'beautiful sight' of the above. I was still groggy till then having to work till late the night before but lo and behold... that was enough to jog my mind awake and I sprung into action. Looking around me in horror...chocolate was everywhere, on the floor, on the carpet, on the sofa and most of it is was...on Asyraaf's face! He was still licking the side of his mouth, trying to get the chocolate that was smeared there while smiling sheepishly at me as if saying..."Look Ibu, this chocolate's darn good!!! He has gotten hold of the leftovers of the chocolate sundae I left on the table the night before. GOD...!! It was such a mess!! It was on the table and it seems he climbed on the chair to get to it. Yes I know...it was my fault... but I was damned tired and the kitchen seemed miles away...Served me right I guess.

So from that second on, I jumped from the mattress I was sleeping on and started cleaning...and you know how chocolate can be very messy. It took me hours. I cleaned him up, showered him all the while scrubbing all the chocolate off him. While he played 'what did I do wrong game...' with innocence shown all over his face. A great video for you guys to watch...and suddenly, I felt all my tension washed away and just laughed at his antiques...chocolates and all...I guess that's what comes with being a parent. Sometimes...IT'S JUST IS. The sooner you accept that fact the better. Let it go. Kids will always be kids...:-) So help us God...

* This 'tragedy' happened 2 months back...sorry for the late update :-(

10.12.08

Watsup girl...?

Wowweee...it's been 2 months since I last updated! Gosh... where in the world have I been huh? Actually, I haven't been anywhere, just the usual work and home drill but I find it hard to blog these days due to the constraints of new work environment and adjustments that I had to make in my life.
And I have been wallowing in self-pity due to the painstakingly slow 3 months of morning sickness and every sickness on earth! And I was down with viral fever for about two weeks, almost gearing towards dengue but alhamdulillah...I am fine now.

The little one? :-) He/she is 5 months now, has started kicking and fluttering around in my belly. And the infamous pee-in-5-seconds-or-I-will-pee-in-my pants syndrome is back...now with a vengeance more than ever...*gosh...Appetite wise...? I am eating averagely normal as compared to Asyraaf's pregnancy...(which I think I was outrageously hungry all the time!) I am now back to my pre-pregnancy weight after losing weight in the first three months. I hope I can catch up soon so as to provide enough nutrition to the little one inside. We have been to ultrasound scan during the monthly checkups but haven't been able to see the gender yet...though I am secretly wishing it's going to be a girl this time ...:-) Yeah, I know you are going to say ... dream onnn....LOL. Well dreams did make things come true...so I'll hang on to it...:-)

I am learning lots and lots of things at work, new things that I have never done before. It is exciting at the same time scary due to the fact that news is real...any mistakes made...will be real too...therefore margin of error is very thin and I am still very new to this field as compared to my colleagues that has been here for 12-13 years...But I am trying as much as I can to learn and absorb all that I can in the smallest amount of time possible because...well, I did write in my resume that I am a 'fast-learner' hehehe...therefore I have got to prove it.

What else have I been doing? Well, I have been in my decorate-my-house-like-in-the-magazine mode...LOL. Have been going around from deco stores to another...reading deco magazines and finally deciding to facelift my house. So I made 'a few' purchases including the furniture, curtains and what-nots (I'd rather not mention here lest Mr hubby reads this and knows my little white lies...hehehe...). Anyway, the new house is just great for us surprisingly... we feel in- tune with the house, just nice to what we would like; a yard that is ours and ours alone so that Asyraaf can play around with his bike etc. Well, in short, it's okay...:-)

Sorry I don't have any recent pics of Asyraaf...this pic was from Raya...

And before I end this post, I leave you with Asyraaf babbling away with his Dad on his way to pick me up from work...Daddy's boylah katakan...:-)

31.10.08

Care to Dance with Me?

This is new. And it is the new craze of Zamir Asyraaf.

DANCING. More or less I guess.

No music is alienated, as long as it has a rhythm...he will shake his bottom and hands while laughing gleefully, glancing at us of course, to see if we are watching him dance. Sucker for glamour hehehe. But it's really funny, but he has an ear for music I think which makes melody easy for him to relate to.

Commercials such as the Nippon paint where the paints are bouncing here and there would keep him transfixed to the TV screen and a smile would be on his lips. If he was standing, he would dance, if he was lying down he would get up and shake his booties...LOL.

The full version of the ad, the one shown on TV is shorter though...

Usually during weekends, me and Asyraaf would spend our time together shopping or just going around in the car. Usually it's the shopping complexes since it's cool and easy for me to get to baby amenities should Asyraaf go poo poo or in need of a change. So there was once, he was in his stroller and a music came on in the shopping complex...and off he goes shaking his body up and down in the very stroller...shaking his head and hands...to an Indian music...hahaha. People were glancing and smiling at him looking at his antiques...and he smiled right back...hehehe. And kept on smiling till the music was out of his hearing...phew... so much for having a quiet evening out...:-)

As for his eating habits...he is eating more solids now...rice, bread, biscuits, chocolates, fruits...you name it. I had to wrestle my Milo drink from him if I need to drink it... He can eat up to 3-4 slices of bread at one time... But he is getting thinner, due to how active he is. And he sure is busy nowadays. Exploring and curious about almost everything around him. We try to accommodate... but it tires the h**l out of us at times... :-) More and more of the annoying traits of a toddler is showing everyday...and ohh the tantrums... yes, the infamous tantrums...Denying him something would result of him lying on the floor anywhere, be it at home, the mall and in a circle too...whilst throwing what other things you try to appease him with...hehehe. We have now learnt the art of putting a bland face in the public if he does something not-so-cute. But we manage I guess... as I said, can't live with, can't live without. When he's not around, we miss him, but when he's around, we have to shout to each other to make ourselves to be heard due to the 'Hear me express myself mode' either by babbling, singing or just plain...shouting! LOL...

One of the rare occasions when asyraaf fell asleep on a babychair after a whole day of outing...:-)

Belated Aidilfitri & A Blessing

Hi everyone... After this I will be going out to get raya money and I need the basket...lest my pockets aren't big enough... ;-D

Salam everyone... Sorry I haven't been updating this blog for quite some time. A lot has happened...and I mean, A LOT! Anyway, first things' first, Salam Aidilfitri to everyone who knows us... May Allah bless us with this year and the coming year's joy of Aidilfitri.

This year we were off to Malacca a day before Raya and to Ipoh on the 2nd of Hari Raya. For this year, the theme in Malacca is Maroon and Ipoh it was brown... custom-made by Opah Amer... We didn't go to many places though in Malacca since Atuk and nenek are the eldest ones around so other people are the ones who come to our house. But Asyraaf managed to get loads and loads of Duit raya since he is the youngest member of the family :-) Sorry no pictures of family, Ibu went to the cemetery after prayers and the people kept coming just after Ibu came back...*phew! Ibu didn't get a chance to even sit coz our relatives we already waiting outside the house...

In Ipoh, we went back to Tok wan's house in Penang for a whole day. We were lucky we brought Asyraaf's cradle along otherwise he would have thrown a tantrum due to the hotness of the weather there. So he has his sleep and entertained everyone with his antiques after he woke up. It was hilarious when his Tok Ndak( the only female in the line of Tok Wan's siblings) put a scarf on him and he posed like a girl. God Asyraaf... make Ibu malu only la...no macho la like that... :-)

We went back to our home on Sunday morning. The next day I started working at my new workplace. Had to wake up so the very early and leave home by 6 am. My eyes are still half open. ANd drive allllllll the way to bangsar, up a 14-storey parking and rush to the office to ensure I upload the news as soon as possible. Otherwise you guys will still read yesterday's ews today...hehehe. But I get to go home early which is at 3 pm and avoid traffic jam altogether. I am still adjusting to the new work pattern...insya-Allah all will be well.

We are also in the midst of shifting back to KL...in the process of acquiring and paying for the house. Will be shifting by the end of the month. Oh yes I am also expecting now... for the second baby. Insya-Allah if all permits I will give birth somewhere in May next year. Pray for my well being. In the meantime it's still eat, vomit, eat, vomit and the loop goes on... :-)

Okay, got to go now...Will write more in the next entries...See ya!

What's Up & New

Hi everyone...Been quite some time since the last post... Ibu has been preoccupied with err... some things she'll tell later when the time is right...ok? For now, it's a secret between me and her...:-)

Anyway, since Ibu is too busy to write, I am going to write this time...See that picture up there ? That is me wearing Ibu's sunglasses, she managed to get that shot of me before I broke the glasses a few minutes later...oops...sorry Ibu...I am Superman and I haven't yet realized my strength...

So what's up and new lately...? Well... let me tell my developing skillsets, some of them deserve applauds and some..err...don't...:-)

  1. I now walk around relentlessly, driving my parents and my caregiver crazy sometimes.
  2. I will say 'nak' ( I want) to everything I see and sometimes try to wrestle the fork and spoon from my mom when she is soooo slow in feeding me with the soooo many food on the table...yummy, ramadhan is soooo full of food...
  3. I love to fart when Ibu opens my diapers to be changed...it feels so freeeeeee....hihi...
  4. I like to smile to everyone I pass by...sometimes I feel I am a superstar at the rate I'm going...Ibu n ayah told me... " Senyuman itu satu sedekah" ( a smile is a gift to others) ...therefore I smile...A LOT...
  5. I ate a bug. I hated it when my parents took it out of my mouth...it felt so good...they don't understand!
  6. I sleep on Ibu's tummy sometimes...it helps me sleep...
  7. I like to kiss other girls my age at the nursery...(I'm just trying to be friendly...anyway, it's just on the cheek)
  8. I like to parrot whatever my parents say... I thought I sounded smart but my parents sometimes gasped at what I say...( what did I do?)* confused
  9. I will cry everytime Ibu or ayah leave the house without me...and wait at the door till they come home...
  10. I like to eat vegetable crackers...yum yum...
  11. I weigh 11.5 kg now... I'm a big boy...:-) Mommy said I'm heavy... ( doesn't she know it's all muscle?) * sigh...
  12. I am very sensitive nowadays... a high tone of my parents voice will make me cry...I think it's my sensitive side trying to emerge...
  13. I have not only 4, but many teeth coming out! Ibu didn't count exactly how many, but it sure looked more than 4. No wonder it hurts so bad at night!

Today I went for a pre-raya spree as my mom like to call it...(God, a real spree would kill me and Ayah!). And I got a songkok and sampin. My baju melayu has been requested to be made my Tok Amer...I hope it'll be ready soon...I can't wait to be dazzlingly handsome to girls back in my hometown... ;-)

So see ya...till my next entry...oops, Ibu's next entry...I got to sleep now...

A Toddling Toddler I Now Am

Asyraaf has started to toddle last 2 weeks or so...And hasn't stopped doing so ever since. And no help wanted of course. If we try to help him by holding his hand, he will pull his hand away as if saying " I can do this la Ibu...no need to help..." * sigh...

And naturally all things and gadgets that used to just be enough just to put out of reach now needs to be put elsewhere... Nothing is beyond reach now... and nothing is impossible...With his mouth just as busy as his feet and hands, he is practically a walking disaster-waiting to happen...

Oh and yes... we just 'checked-out' of An-Nur again...Asyraaf's phlegm had to be suctioned out since he has accumulated quite a lot...It was 6 days 5 nights this time...luckily we managed to get discharged a day before Ramadhan...Alhamdulillah... He is now well, his usual chirpy and always up to something self... :-)

What's New in The Asyraaf Wonderland...

DSC02277

Well...wonderland is not so wonderful anymore for little Asyraaf :-). We recently got the safety gate to be installed at the kitchen entrance from the living room. We have been thinking to do so for a long time but never got around it. So now we have. And it is soooo much easier since I don't have to go hunting for my chilli sauce in the 2nd bedroom, the vermicelli in the main bedroom and the biscuits in under his cot. Life is a wee bit less hectic...:-)

New toy collection for Asyraaf. Present from Wan Chik during his 2nd time birthday celebration in Ipoh last weekend. It has a horn that NEVER stops honking since he pushes the button ever so often! He loves it though...getting on anf off it...checking the tires, and the usual whatnots for young boys...At least he is kept preoccupied ...so no complaints on my part...

So what's new with Asyraaf... ? Erm lets see...

  1. Cak aa.....playing pekaboo with whoever that looks his way, wherever he can.
  2. Saying a few words like nak (I want), nah (u can take this), baby(err...this is a hint i think), duck, cat or meoww (while searching under the chair for it), saying Oo' Oooo... over and over again
  3. Being a parrot of whatever we say and sometimes getting laughs from us when we are cought off guard with the spontaneous words that came out of him
  4. 9th tooth finally out after months staying with 8 teeth.
  5. Clapping his hand (complementing himself is more like it)
  6. Putting up both his hands shouting " Aya...!" when asked who is Asyraaf.
  7. Salam and kissing hands of elders (depending of his mood of course). Otherwise it is a helpless deed to ask him to do so
  8. Kissing me and his dad with and open mouth and leaving trails of saliva on our cheeks
  9. Using us as the hurdle for him to get one side to the other as if it is a challenge to do so... * sigh
  10. Standing in the baby chair while saying " Woo..." and balancing his stance as if he is Superman
  11. Giving high -5 to whoever who is willing to entertain him
  12. Walking 4-5 steps only only to go back to crawling
  13. Eating up to 3 bowls of chicken nestum a day
  14. Drinking milk so fast we thought the milk was spilled on the floor only to find out it spilled alright....into his belly LOL!
  15. Farting as loud and as far as Timbuktu ...gosh...
  16. Throwing tantrums when he is denied something he wants such as eating the bug, or putting something in his mouth
  17. Slapping my face whenever he feels like it.
  18. Mimicking me when I gave him a 'babab' after the above.
  19. Smiling and asking for food from the next table shamelessly with " Nak..." as if he doesn't have any.
  20. Emptying the contents of the toy basket gleefully and happily...
  21. And the list may go on forever...

But not in any way has it made us love him any less... with a smile that melts the hardest of hearts... and a cheekiness that went beyond our expectation. We love you Asyraaf...

INTRODUCING THE NEW 'ASHCODER'

It is now EXTREMELY hard to get a good watch of TV. Because eversince Astro has launched the new decoder...he has been working overtime. F.O.C. of course. It has become a routine where we suddenly get a blank blue screen that says 'Pls insert your smartcard' in the midst of watching TV. We would look at him and say "Asyraaf...put it back..." but all we got was an innocent gaze as if saying "What...?" with a quirk of an eyebrow and again... the cycle will repeat itself * sigh...

Our decoder is the small silver one where the card can be visibly seen and easily extracted by small and busy fingers such as Asyraaf's...Taping it with a selophane did not help...we are at a lost and have finally accepted our fate in the hands of the new decoder - "ASHCODER" by ASHRO.... The new Akademi Fantaashraf will be out soon...Don't forget to vote! ;-)

Scarrity Cat

Another new discovery of Asyraaf's : Fear of cats

Following my footsteps I guess: Asyraaf is scared of cats. Discovered during dinner at a restaurant. There was a cat that lingered around us and suddenly I noticed Asyraaf's feet was up on the babychair...hehe...Tak macholah anak Ibu nie...LOL...Tis okay...we'll work on it ... there's still hope... :-)
