Langkawi...The Island of Duty-free Goods and Discipline-free Kid

collage4

Been a long time since the last blog entry. Been busy as bee...And we also just came back from a 5-day 4 nights vacation in Langkawi. It rained most evenings so we had to get out early to go anywhere since we couldn't go anywhere by evening come. But then again...it ALWAYS rained every time we went there...ermm....wonder why is that...

24th July 2008: We started our journey to Langkawi, this time by car. We were thinking of travelling by plane, but as the image of everybody jumping off the plane mid air everytime Asyraaf cries or shrieks, we opted for a safer traveling mode... :-). At least the only person who will jump off the car is us...so we wouldn't be hurting anyone that way...LOL...

Okay...back to the journey, we started at 8.30 am and arrived at the Kuala Perlis jetty at about 3 pm, bought the tickets and boarded the ferry...Asyraaf fell asleep after half an hour playing peek-a-boo (Cakk...aaa!!!) with the person sitting behind our seats...I pity him since I don't think he had much sleep during the journey what with Asyraaf smiling and peeking from behind the seats every two minutes...:-)

awana porto malai

Arrived at Awana Porto Malai around 6 pm, checked in and settled down but we didn't exactly go anywhere after there because we were all tired from the travelling. After dinner that night we turned in early for the night to get ready for a new tomorrow.

One thing that made us always pick Awana Porto Malai to stay is because of the place itself brings a feeling of tranquility when we gaze at the sea from our bedroom window. The sound of the sea water just makes your nerves calm and relaxed. I have been here alone before I got married, and twice after. For us, it offers the perfect getaway when we go for a vacation…Even little Asyraaf would sit in front of the balcony and watch the boats go in and out of the jetty in fascination.

And at night, there’s lights along the jetty that looks as if it is a magical lane to walk through. :-) *sigh Wish we are there again…

sightseeing langkawi

The next days, we went to the Underwater World, the Wildlife Park & the Bird Paradise, Pantai Cenang and also the jetty to shop for chocolates and t-shirts as souvenirs to bring home. Didn't buy much though Ibu did drool at the dining sets, and vantage collections there. But as Ayah said..." You already have it at home...". So Ibu just walked past the shops with head bowed low...hihi...

We enjoyed ourselves there, we didn't exactly go there to buy anything, just to get away from work and spend some quality time together. It is usually work, weekends, work, weekends,we didn't really spend time to go places and just forget about work and pending stick ons on our tables. It was a great vacation for us three.

The last day before we headed back home, we stopped at the Pantai Tengah to dip our feet in the water but as usual...the 'hero' is afraid of the water...See his frown in ALL the pics...

We also realized that Langkawi is not only duty-free, it also discipline-free and obedient-free, it seemed. Feet on the table, standing on the baby chair, diving in the back seat of the car..etc etc etc.... You may see it in the pics...any tips on 'taming' of the 'tiger' ? * sigh...
