The next few days, Asyraaf came down with eyesore...and because he kept rubbing his eyes, the outer layer, the blood vessels of the clear film of his eyes got ruptured and the white area of his eyes turned bloody. He even shed 'bloody' tears...I was so shocked and quickly, we brought him to the paed in Bangi, An-Nur specialist hospital to get treatment.
But the paed quickly noticed his wheezing sounds and told us to come back the next morning for physiotherapy sessions. We were also given an appointment to see the eye specialist the next monday. The next day, after assessment from the physiotherapist, Asyraaf was admitted. Personally, Munir and I were quite 'relieved' he was admitted so long as Asyraaf gets better. We were prepared for anything Asyraaf had to go through.
Asyraaf was given suctions using the phlegm suction machine 3 times during the 5 days he was warded there. The hospital practically became our home. We didn't take any photos nor videos during the suction because it is not a memory any parents would want to have...ever. It was excruciatingly painful for any adult, let alone a baby. A tube was forced into his mouth into his breathing airway to suck out the phlegm. And also through his nose to do the same thing. Asyraaf would shed cryless tears after each session, that was how painful it was. I shed some tears too...seeing my son in such a condition. Truthfully, I never once really looked at the tube going into his system...it was too much for me even to hear his screams...what more that...
He was monitored closely, underwent 3 suction sessions for three days and given medications plus nebulizers after every hour. I could see the paeds trying everything to make him better and alhamdulillah...after 5 days there, he became A LOT better. He is now breathing normally, for the first time, through his nose, without any blockage. And he sleeps better now too. It was worth the torture and pain...and the cost too :-). We were lucky we managed to get him insurance just in time...
So all is well now, only that I am the one now with the iSore...but as long as Asyraaf is fine, I thank God...The pics below are the pics we took during the stay, the ones with asyraaf in blue shirt is the last day...
